Libresco was founded in 2006 by Peter Blanchard, described by the BBC's Andrew Marr as an "expatriate Scouse engineer and management consultant now throwing himself into the ebook revolution from the unlikely setting of a Welsh hilltop."
Since having the idea of a device which could hold travel guides, holiday reading and English newspapers whilst on holiday in Rome in 2005, Peter has worked closely with Dutch company Irex Technologies BV to bring e-Reading to consumers in the UK and Eire.

Libresco is focused both on supplying e-Reading solutions, and in providing a source of content both paid for and free. Libresco is developing links with national and international newspapers, magazines and publishers and the Gutenberg Project.

Libresco Limited is the official UK supplier and distributor for  iRex Technologies and also sells selected readers from other manufacturers. Libresco is in the vanguard of the technological e-reading revolution and are keen to promote and facilitate the development of e-publishing.
